...I had been a smoker for 30 years. But my doctor had told me I needed to quit and I was having trouble breathing. I officially smoked my last cigarette on March 2013...Now my self-esteem is better and I know I can reach a goal I set for myself. Hopefully I added ten years to my life too.

Thrift Shop

Sky Light Center operates a Thrift Shop several afternoons a week. The Thrift Shop is a part of the Clerical Unit and is run side-by-side with members and staff. The shop offers members access to affordable items that have been donated by community members, local merchants, or purchased at the Dollar Store.

Items offered include:

  • Clothing
  • Household items
  • Furniture
  • Personal care items (purchased from a local Dollar Store)
  • Shoes
  • Jewelry
  • Children's items
  • Books, CD's & videos
  • Knick Knacks

Items are sold to our membership at very low prices. After operating costs are deducted, the remaining income is utilized for our members in the form of an emergency fund as well as a fund to pay for trainings, conferences and workshops.
